Each app uses one Hyzl phone number. Hazel uses it for texts, replies, and calls. Open Your number

Assign the number

Hyzl offers United States numbers today. The area code sets the preferred region, but number availability varies.
  1. Enter a three-digit United States area code.
  2. Select Assign my number.
  3. Wait while the button shows Assigning number….
  4. Select Refresh number status until texts are ready.
You can also select one of these area code suggestions:
  • 415 for San Francisco
  • 212 for New York
  • 310 for Los Angeles
  • 512 for Austin
If no number is available, try another area code. Select Copy number after Hyzl assigns the number.
If assignment needs a status check, contact Hyzl before another request. Another request can assign a second number.

Text and call readiness

Hyzl prepares texts and calls separately. Texts can become ready while live calls still prepare. Select Refresh number status to load the latest text and call states. This action does not buy another number. During setup, Teach Hazel appears after texts become ready. Calls do not need to finish before you continue.

Call fallback

Call fallback explains what happens if Hazel’s live connection is unavailable or ends. If you saved a number under Forward to a human, callers hear the fallback greeting and then go to that number. Otherwise, the call ends. Select Manage voice, greeting and forwarding to change these choices on the Hazel page.

What the number handles

The same number receives text replies and incoming calls. Hazel can also place calls when you turn on call steps in Flow. The app uses this number only through Hyzl. Contact Hyzl if you need to replace or release it.

Problems and retries

If the page cannot load your app data, it shows Couldn’t load this page. Select Try again.
